The Managing Director has announced the appointment of Mr. Mark King as Chief Operating Officer with effect from October 1, 2006.
Mr. King is presently Manager Information Systems and has 30 years experience in the Company, most of which has been at a senior level in the Distribution Department. He first joined the Company in 1976 after completing his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of the West Indies. He was awarded a Commonwealth Scholarship to undertake his Master of Science degree in Electronics at the University of Southampton, England and, on successful completion in 1980, rejoined the Company. He was placed in charge of the technical operations of the Distribution Department and was subsequently appointed a Senior Distribution Engineer in 1984.
He has led many initiatives in the Company, including the introduction of the first Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) System in 1985, and was Project Manager for the implementation of the PeopleSoft & Maximo software packages for the Company’s accounting, inventory, and work order systems.
In his new position as Chief Operating Officer, Mr. King will oversee and coordinate the management of the Distribution and Generation operations, through the respective Senior Managers, and will be responsible for the central purchasing and materials management functions through the Purchasing Officer.

The Managing Director has also announced the appointment of Mr. Stephen Worme as Chief Marketing Officer with effect from October 1, 2006.
Mr. Worme is presently Manager Marketing & Corporate Communications, a position he assumed in 2003 when these functions were first established in the Company. He began his career with the Company in 1979 and was involved in many engineering projects over the next several years as a Distribution Engineer before moving on in 1985 to head up the Customer Services Department, which was then called the Commercial Department. During his tenure as Customer Services Manager, Mr. Worme championed several initiatives to bring greater customer focus to the department and the entire organization.
Mr. Worme holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Western Ontario, Canada, and an MBA from the University of the West Indies, graduating in 1995 as class valedictorian.
In his new position as Chief Marketing Officer, Mr. Worme will continue to coordinate the marketing and corporate communication functions, but will also oversee the customer service and regulatory aspects of the Company’s operations through the relevant managers and section heads.
