The Barbados Light & Power Co. Ltd. is upgrading its computerized customer information system to a new Customer Care and Billing System to meet the current and future needs of its customers.
Customer Services Manager, Hal Hunte said that "the current system which was developed in house has served very well since its implementation in 1990 but with our goals to 'better serve', there was a need to upgrade the capabilities of the system. After a rigorous selection process the Customer Care and Billing System from Oracle was selected from several state of the art customer information systems.
"A team of employees and consultants has been working on setting up the new Customer Care & Billing system over the last 2 years to configure it to meet the specific needs of Light & Power's customers." The transition to the new system will be taking place over the coming weeks.
